Lifestyle Newborn Photography | Redbourn | Imogen & Her Dogs
/When Lisa got in touch and asked if I would do Lifestyle Newborn Photography including her two dogs, my answer was a very big yes!
I LOVE dogs and so am always happy to include them in any lifestyle shoot.
I believe that Lifestyle Photography is the most personal and meaningful kind of photography there is. I am welcomed into people's homes to capture such special times in their lives, whether that's celebrating a pregnancy, welcoming a new baby or capturing the milestones.
Having the photos taken in your own home means you can look back and reminisce about that time in your life - where you lived, how you lived.
And I hope that that is what Imogen can do with her family as she grows up.
When I arrived at their house I was welcomed into a large seating area with the most beautiful floor to ceiling window of light. I try to use the natural light as much as I can during lifestyle shoots, just using my flash to fill in those darker spaces.
After a few crazy minutes of jumping and licking from the dogs when I arrived, they soon settled down for cuddles with their family on the sofa. We got some beauttiful expresions from a wide awake Imogen, who was very comfy snuggled up in her mum's arms.
From there we moved further into that gorgeous natural window light.
Imogen's nursery is absolutely gorgeous with quite neutral tones, a Winnie the Pooh quote above her cot and THE softest rug you have ever felt on the floor.
We made use of the rocking chair to capture some special moments with mum and dad by themselves, who said they enjoyed having that little moment alone with her just sitting, looking and cuddling.
I imagine there will be many cuddles in this chair as she grows.
How adorably tiny does she look in her cot?!
Images like this are such an important reminder of just how tiny she was when she was born and just how quickly she has grown. Before you know it she'll sitting in this spot and then pulling herself up to standing on the bars.
After the nursery we headed to mum and dad's bedroom for some cuddles on their big bed. It was also the perfect opportunity to get some photos of Imogen by herself.
If I get the pleasure of photographing her again when she's older, I'll sit her in this exact spot to show just how much has changed in those few months.
Don't forget me mum!
It was an absolute pleasure getting to know this genuinely lovely family and I hope they enjoy their images long into the future.
