Arthur's Newborn Photo Shoot | High Wycombe
/For Arthur’s Newborn Photo Shoot, I travelled to his house in Buckinghamshire.
His mum wanted a combination of both posed and lifestyle photos and to include Arthur’s big brother Harry in some of the images.
Finding The Right Spot To Set Up
To start, I set up in their dining area which had large windows letting in lots of light. I soon realised that the sun was going to be a pain, shining right onto us so I moved into their living room instead.
When I travel to your house, in an ideal world I am looking for an area without any direct sunlight. That way I can set up lights and don’t have to worry about the bright sun interfering.
Onto the Beanbag
Not all babies like a positions and Arthur definitely preferred to be on his back on my posing beanbag. I never force a baby into a pose that they don’t like, instead working with how they are comfiest.
Instead of making him lay on his side or his tummy, I got lots of variety by changing up the blankets and angles.
When I use my furry blankets, I love including black and white photos. The texture looks gorgeous - and so so those cheeks!
Of course I can’t let a photo shoot go by without capturing those tiny details.
Tiny hands, newborn hair, those gorgeous lips and teeny toes.
Lifestyle Photo Shoot
Once we were done with the posed part of his photo shoot, we moved onto the lifestyle part, which is where I take relaxed photos around your own home.
How gorgeous is Harry, Arthur’s big brother? You can tell he loves him already.
I love photographing newborns in their cots and on their parent’s big beds. It’s the perfect way to show just how fast they’ve grown when mum and dad look back at these images in a few weeks and months.
Thank you for being a lovely model Arthur, for both the posed and lifestyle parts of your photo shoot. I hope I get to photograph you and your family again in the future!
