Bluebell Photo Shoots 2018 | St Albans
/ Becki Williams Photography/ Rebecca WilliamsAnd so Bluebell Photo Shoots are over for another year!
We got off to a rocky start this year when the late snow meant that Spring was delayed by about 2 weeks. Mix in some rainy weekends and everything was a bit up in the air.
I made multiple trips to the woods to check to see how things were progressing and thankfully the bluebells didn't let us down in the end!
A big high five to all the families who came out on the first Saturday. It may have been spitting and we may have had to negotiate our way around a bit of mud but you'd never know in your photos.
Luckily as the week went on, the weather made a massive u-turn and we were treated to some beautiful warm sunshine. The mud dried and the bluebells perked up and were blooming marvellous (yes I just said that...)
It went without a hitch (I'm choosing to forget that I knelt in dog poo at one point) and I had lots of fun on adventures with monsters, finding sticks and singing songs from Moana.
It was great to meet some new families and also get to photograph lots of families i've met before. One of my favourite parts of my job is getting to see kids grow up and mini shoots are perfect for that.
Let's do it again next year!!
Being a portrait photographer means I get to photograph lots of important stages in people’s lives, and Maternity Photo Shoots are always particularly lovely.
Pregnancy can bring plenty of highs and lows, lots of anticipation and, understandably, sometimes a few worries too.
Today, I want to share a little more about why you might choose to book a maternity photo shoot and the best time to plan one.
It feels like only yesterday I was photographing Roman at his Newborn Photo Shoot and now he’s turning one!
It’s always a pleasure to photograph this lovely family (something I’ve been doing for many years now) so when they booked a Birthday Photo Shoot for Roman I was very excited.
I’ve been a Milton Keynes Newborn Photographer for over 10 years and have seen every single type of older sibling there is.
No matter their age or how they feel about the new arrival, there are lots of tips and tricks to get the sibling photos you dream of.
When the stars align and you get both an asleep and awake baby at different stages of your newborn photo shoot, the result is the perfect combination of positioned, angelic sleepiness and newborn sass!
I always say ‘your baby is the boss’ and I mean it.
I have been photographing this lovely family ever since their oldest girl was a newborn baby, which absolutely blows my mind!
Families coming back to me year after year is not only an amazing part of my job but is also incredibly touching because it means someone is willing to trust me with capturing their family’s memories over and over again.
So when Theo’s mum got in touch to tell me she was pregnant again I booked them straight away and the countdown began!

Sometimes a newborn walks (well…is carried) in the studio and I am blown away by their hair. This was very much one of those occasions!
