Planning a baby shower in Milton Keynes can be daunting!

We have so many amazing venues, caterers, and party planners, you might find yourself feeling a little lost.

I’ve created this ‘Planning A Baby Shower’ blog to help make this task a little easier. I’ve even included a fabulous pack of baby shower party games for you to download completely free of charge. Simply print them out for your shower and the games are taken care of.

Where?

Firstly you’ll need to decide if you are going to have your baby shower at home or in a venue. You may want a more relaxed affair and home could be the perfect choice for you. Bear in mind how many guests will be attending your baby shower and if you’ll need help with the set up, prep and then the cleaning up afterwards. You might not feel up to all of that whilst heavily pregnant!

If you decide you’d rather have your shower in a venue and leave the prep and cleanup to someone else, you’ll find we are spoiled for choice when it comes to baby shower venues in Milton Keynes.

Cafes & Restaurants

The Gamechanger Kitchen - This lovely cafe (so lovely I went for my birthday this year!) has recently expanded and now does private events. It’s perfect for a baby shower. Check out their Instagram to see the anitpasti spreads they offer.
The Woodside Cafe - A lovely family run cafe in Linford Wood who offer private hire on Saturdays with different catering options.
Truly Scrumptious Tea House - This looks like a beautiful little venue in Salford - Mk, where you can ‘enjoy our beautiful gardens, a champagne reception in a truly unique setting.’ You can read about their baby shower options Here.
Miss Havisham’s Tea Room - A lovely traditional tea room in Stony Stratford.

Pubs & Bars

The Old Beams - I see this pub recommended A LOT for lots of different celebrations.
The Kensington - Has a lower function room for parties/birthdays etc.
The Burnt Oak - Shenley Brook End. They have a function room which you can hire with or without a catering package.
The New Inn - New Bradwell. A lovely canal side pub with an upstairs function room.
Club 124 - A speakeasy style bar in Bletchley.
The Navigation Inn - Overlooks the Grand Union Canal in Cosgrove and has buffet options to choose from.
The Three Trees - Bletchley. They cater for small groups up to large groups of 150.

Hotels/Barns/Halls/Other Venues

Furtho Manor Farm - Set in the stunning rural countryside in Old Stratford, this gorgeous location has two options for smaller and larger baby showers. There is also a bed and breakfast there if any guests are travelling a long way.
Olivia Cole Lounge - This venue looks beautiful - ‘the perfect space to host small and intimate events, arrange networking groups and come together with friends and family to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Woburn countryside.’
The Kingfisher Country Club - Deanshanger. A beautiful location with a large ballroom and smaller dining area for hire.
Kilning Me Softly - Newport Pagnell. If you’d like an activity at your baby shower, why not try some pottery painting. They even offer to hire the venue without pottery painting for £20 an hour.

Village Halls & Community Centres - There is a community or village hall in nearly every part of Milton Keynes. They’re a great option if you want to cater yourself and a lot of the time can be a bit cheaper than hiring other venues. If you google your location and community centre (such as ‘Emerson Valley Community Centre’) you can see what comes up in your area and arrange a visit.

At Home

Glu Events - If you’re thinking of having a Baby Shower at home and want something special, this company hire igloos. You can get them either furnished or unfurnished.

Food/Catering

Once you have your venue sorted, you need to think about catering. You definitely don’t need to go over the top with catering, and if you choose a venue that also provides food, they will help guide your decision. If you decide to take care of the catering yourself, here are some local catering companies that can cater for your baby shower.

The Sandwich Lady - Based in Stony Stratford offers buffets, platters and afternoon teas.

Alternatively, Costco have loads of platter options including sandwiches, wraps, vegetables, cakes, pastries, petit fours and cookies. You can order them online 3+ days in advance and pick them up from Costco in Kingston, MK.

Cake
