I love an autumnal Newborn Photo Shoot.

To be honest I like any photo shoot where I can use a new season as inspiration but Autumn has got to be up there as one of my favourites.

Give me pumpkins, leaves and warm tones and I am a happy girl.

When Imogen’s parents were happy for me to use a little autumnal colour in their newborn photo shoot, I was over the moon. I do so many neutral shoots (where my heart usually lays) but you just can’t beat a bit of gorgeous colour every now and then.

I had just purchased this beautiful burnt orange wrap, hat and headband set so couldn’t wait to use them - I think they suit her perfectly.
I also used a bowl prop on a brown wood backdrop and then moved her onto a gorgeous deep, warm pink blanket.

To finish the photo shoot, I placed her on a dark grey blanket, which is beautiful for black and white images.

When some parents book their newborn photo shoot they know exactly the colours and themes they want and others are more than happy to leave it completely up to me. I really don’t mind either way! All I ask is that if you have a really firm idea of the type of photos you want, you let me know as far in advance as possible so I can purchase anything I don’t own (within reason!) or if it’s something I don’t offer I can refer you to another photographer who does.
