Meet little Lachlan, the most gorgeous little boy with a genuinely lovely family.
When I first heard that the family wanted an Irish, Rugby, Autumn themed newborn baby photoshoot I've got to say, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to get it all to work together.
Of course the only real answer was to go shopping!
I first met Thomas and his family in April when I did his newborn session at their house in Hemel Hempstead when he was just a few days old.
As usual, time has gone ridiculously fast and a couple of weeks ago I headed back to photograph his next milestone session.
When I first walked into their house it was great to see a large framed print of the above image hanging in their dining room. They also have smaller prints dotted around the house, in their bedroom and his nursery. Much better than a USB stuck inside a drawer!
When ever I send emails to my clients letting them know what to expect from their session I also express my love for vests and nakedness!
There's nothing quite like the podge of a 6 month old and I dare you not to smile at that little naked bottom!!!
We got some really lovely family images at their last session so it was important to me to make sure I captured some more now that Thomas has grown up a little.
I love a relaxed look to these photos so I encourage cuddles and playtime while I wander around and capture the smiles.
He may have only just been mastering the art of sitting but he certainly looks like he's got in down in this image!
I love that you can a picture of him as a newborn with his mum and dad in the background.
Sessions with babies around 6 - 8 months are really just TONS of fun!
I encourage singing, dancing and just pure silliness to help get those beautiful natural grins. And no, you don't have to be self conscious because I will be singing and dancing right there with you!
I'm photographing so many milestone sessions lately that it's scary.
It only feels like I was photographing them as newborns 5 minutes ago, but here they are, smiling, sitting, standing, and full of personality.
Harry's mum Liz got in touch earlier this year whilst pregnant with Harry. Without knowing it, her brother had seen she'd liked my Facebook Page and contacted me to buy her a gift voucher.
It worked out pretty perfectly!
I went and met the gorgeous Harry in March and took some photos of his chunky newborn rolls!
Now, 8 months later, it was time for my next visit.
These images are the perfect example of why baby pictures are so important. Just look at the difference 8 months makes! Using teddies like this is the perfect way to show how fast he's grown.
When I take photos around peoples houses, I love to think of the children looking back in 10 years and their parents telling them stories about things in the images.
Maybe the monkey mural was a huge pain to put on the wall, the bunting was made by a family member, the teddies he loved to play with. I love to think that my images will be full of memories for them.
Ah, back to my favourite place to photograph babies - a big bed!
Harry's mum is making a calendar of pictures of him for Christmas so we needed to tick a couple of months off of the list during his session. First - Halloween.
In typical 8 month old style, this little monster did NOT like staying still. All he needs to do is flash you his dimples and you automatically forgive him though!
To finish off his session we headed out to a local park in St. Albans.
Considering it was October, we completely lucked out with the weather and found ourselves in beautiful sunshine.
At this point we had to try and be more interesting than the tractor that was currently driving around the field (it was tricky!) but we managed to get some fun images with mum as well as some wintery images for his calendar.
Harry and his family are always really lovely to work with and I'm already looking forward to heading back to St. Albans for his 1 year session - let's face it, it'll be here before we know it!
When Jame's family were searching for a lifestyle newborn photographer in Hemel Hempstead I'm so glad they came across my website.
James was a little older than the usual 5 - 10 day olds that I photograph in a posed session but was the perfect age for some relaxed lifestyle photos with his mum and dad.
We started upstairs in their beautiful bedroom where the summer sun was shining in through their large windows.
I laid James down on the bed and captured all those tiny details that won't stay tiny for long!
A few weeks ago Joshua and his family came to my house in Hemel Hempstead for their newborn photography session.
This little guy was a completely dream to work with and I got some beautiful images.
As usual, I started with wrapped images to get him into that super sleepy mood.
I can get three really lovely shots from the pose below - his whole body, his feet and a close up of his face.
I think we should take a second to appreciate his amazing hair. I LOVE it!
After we'd finished on the plainer blankets, it was time to get out the fluff!
He snuggled into the posing bowl perfectly and even flashed a cheeky smily :)
His mum decided to leave Joshua's big brother at home with his dad for first part of the session and then bring him round when we were ready for him. This meant he was ready and raring to go when it came time for sibling photos.
Joshua had started to wake up a little at this point so I wrapped him up snug and made sure he was ready for some big brother love.
I LOVE this family photo. So much in fact that I have used it in a sample product for my Reveal Sessions and gifted them a HUGE print of it.
As much as it may look like they're sitting there nicely together, much running and playing was required to get that bottom in mums lap!
It was a million percent worth it for the result :)
As names come and go in and out of fashion, I did wonder if I would ever get to photograph a baby with my own name. Turns out I didn't have to wait long!
Rebecca's mummy got in touch while she pregnant and booked for both maternity and newborn pictures. You can read all about her maternity session Here.
A few weeks later I went back and met Rebecca at her house in St Albans. I set up my giant beanbag and blanket backdrops in their living room and started with some wrapped pictures to help her drift off to sleep.
This lilac wrap was actually a gift from a past client and this is the first time I've used it. I think the colour is beautiful and the texture is perfect to have it fading away into the background.
Sometimes it's nice to transfer to the next pose (this case on her side) while keeping to the same wrap. That way she didn't need to be uncovered and therefore stayed nice and warm and settled.
After pictures on the bean bag it was time to mix things up a little and include some texture.
She was a little awake at first so I wrapped her up again, this time keeping her little legs free and placed her into my newborn posing bowl.
Once she had settled back into a deep sleep I slowly unwrapped her and captured lots of different angles as well as those very important details.
Elliot's family got in touch recently to arrange for me to come and take some family and baby pictures for them.
I prefer to take family photos in my clients home as the lifestyle fashion of photography means that their surroundings will be in the background of the photos. I think it's so much nicer to see your home in your photos rather than a studio backdrop.
I like to think that in the future they will look back at their photos and remember things about their lives at that time. 'Remember when we lived there' 'That was before this or that happened' etc.
The window light in their living area was perfect and made for the beautifully lit images.
As well as family images, I captured a few images of Elliot by himself. There is no posing at this age and things are kept nice and simple. Just look at those eyes! <3
Rather than just buy digitals, they decided to purchase lots of lovely prints to hang on their walls and give to family.
I hope they enjoy their images for many years to come!

#Hootsuite trial number2! I think we've got it this time!

I had two sessions to edit this week - a 1 year session from last week and a sitter milestone session. Both are babies that I photographed as newborns and once again I cannot believe how fast the time has gone!
Now, if I was a well organised blogger I would have sorted out an image to include but...i forgot to upload one before leaving home for the weekend!
Here's one I posted on Instagram while trying to work out a new social media organising tool (what did I tell you, business stuff!)
Last night I saw Coldplay! Ok, so I know at least some of you rolled your eyes, but I will not deny, I am a Coldplay fan.
We've seen them at the 02, the Royal Albert Hall and last night it was time for Wembley Stadium. As usual they put on an amazing show with flashing wrist bands, coloured balls, indoor fireworks and amazing music.
If you're local and are going to Wembley, Stanmore was such an easy station to use to get there - Just jump on the Jubilee line, 3 or 4 stops and you're there!
We're currently dog sitting for my parents, which means 3 continuous days of two crazy spaniels wrestling each other in a way that only sisters can. (for those who don't know, we own a spaniel and my parents own her sister. Putting them together = mayhem!)
I'm currently typing as quietly as I can, trying not to wake them up!
I got a bit carried away once the show had started and didn't take any more pictures!
don't let this photo fool you - mayhem!!!
you've got to love a good old rainbow (although i wouldn't mind a bit more sunshine...)
It's a busy week next week with 4 sessions in the diary with everything from newborn, baby and family. It was meant to be 5 but another cheeky newborn has decided to stay comfy for a while longer.
I've also got some exciting new summer session plans that i'm starting to put into action next week so keep a lookout on my Facebook Page to find out more.
My new product samples have arrived!!!
Now, for those who are new to Becki Williams Photography, you may not know about all the exciting changes that have been happening over the last few months.
Well first of all Welcome and secondly, prepare to set your eyes on the most gorgeous products that are newly available to all of my lovely clients!
Let's not beat around the bush, let me introduce you toooo...
Fine Art Float Frames are available with either a black or white hand crafted frame. Your image is beautifully printed and mounted to leave space between the back of the frame and the Ultra Clear Acrylic.
I think black and white images look absolutely stunning in this black frame. The way the image floats above the background is gorgeous!
How ever hard I tried, no photo can do this Metal Print justice.
Bright, vibrant and full of detail, Metal Prints are guaranteed to bring your picture to life. They are modern, elegant and all about the image.
As well as beautiful they are also extremely practical. The surface is strong, scratch resistant as well as waterproof and can be cleaned easily.
The Metal Print is approx 1.5mm thick and mounted to a sub-frame lifting the print 15mm from the wall.
We've got a classic here! - The Canvas.
Avoid all of the cheap Canvases on the market and treat yourself to a high quality product that will last.
These Canvas Wraps are produced on a professional grade 100% pure cotton canvas, and printed using 12 colour ink technology delivering perfect photographic reproductions. The Canvases are hand wrapped around professional 2″ thick stretcher bars made from finger jointed pine, guaranteed not to warp or bow.
A framed print may be a simple option, but it is also a very beautiful and popular one.
With 4 different frame choices to choose from in a variety of colours, you can tailor your framed print to suit your home.
Each print is inserted into a white matt (the bit around the edge), which not only looks gorgeous but also protects your print from laying flat against the glass and becoming damaged.
Portrait albums are an amazing way to show off some or all of the images from your session. Arriving in a linen bag, inside a matching box, it really is a top quality product.
With many linen cover colours to choose from, you also have the option of laser etching a title onto the front of your album.
Each extra thick page opens up to lay flat on your table, meaning images can be placed over the spine with minimal interruption.
There we go ladies and gents - a nice little introduction to all of my shiny new products!
Now, do not fear, digitals are still very much available to purchase and are delivered via USB.

Ok so I may have had a slight case of procrastination a few days ago and decided to organise some of my newborn headbands (paperwork can wait, right?!)
The only problems with organising them is the fact it's made me want to buy more!
Sometimes when I get to a newborn session I can look at a baby and know what headband would suit them straight away.
This beautiful simple headband goes so well with her lovely rosy complexion and grey backdrop. It's also a great one for parents who aren't quite sure whether newborn headbands are quite their cup of tea.
On the other end of the scale, I LOVE bright colours on darker skin. This headband was brand new and i was just a teensy bit excited to use it. (It's actually an adults headband from Primark that i've altered! Shhh!)
Now that i've laid all of my newborns headbands out, i've decided there is definitely room for growth :p
A few blues maybe? Some creams and browns for the neutral lovers out there? OOooo a little crown?!
Let me know what your favourites are and help me decide what my next purchase will be :)
Now I like a good chunky newborn baby and this little guy did not disappoint! Just check out these adorable newborn rolls!
He looks so comfortable curled up on his tummy.
I get asked to include all kinds of things in newborn photos but this was the first time I've included golf balls (Update: This is becoming quite popular now!)
Apparently dad is looking forward to some good father and son golf days when he's older :)
When Harry's mum showed me the teddies that she wanted to include, I knew exactly what to do with them. They were pretty much identical in size and just longing to be hugged. I placed him on my fur blanket, curled him up and then carefully placed his cuddly friends. The photo came out perfectly!
I can't wait to photograph him with them at his 6 month session to show just how much he's grown.
This image is 'backlit' (I took it from the shadow side rather than the light) and the contrast and texture of the blanket makes it a perfect black and white newborn photo.
I encourage all my families to at least get a few lifestyle photos together at the end of their session. Existing in photos with your children is SO important.
They don't have to be fancy - just a few family photos that your little one can look back on once they've grown up.
I love looking back at family photos - don't you?
James has been born into the cutest little family!
His big sister is just adorable. I got the image below while just setting up my camera, testing the light. Just look at those eyes!
After a little warming up, she was ready for some photos with her new little brother. She wasn't quite ready to touch him yet, but she knew exactly who he was when we asked!
Next it was time to set up the beanbag to get some gorgeous posed photos.
I wrapped him up and he drifted off to sleep, ready for some cute posing.
How cute is this group of three images together?! I can picture them all in a triple frame together.
I first met Amelia's mum and dad for their Maternity Session over a year ago. The thing I remember most about their Maternity Session was the amount of discussion that went on about what they were going to call her!
I then went back a few weeks later and met baby Amelia (good choice!)
Where better to start than with the little chair that she got for her birthday. In typical 1 year old fashion that of course means climbing on and nearly falling off of it many times.
Window light is the most beautiful kind!
The thing I love about the bed photos is the fact that we got Maternity photos in this exact spot. The perfect way to show how life has changed over the last year.
These types of colourful wall murals are so popular right now and I absolutely love them. I LOVE colour in photos, specially with older babies.
Gorgeous light coming in from the windows, the way she's looking up at her birthday balloon - love it! There's just someone about it black and white that I adore.
Everyone meet the baby with the coolest and most Italian name! Ok, so we'll only call him Max on here, as his mum and dad may not want his whole name out for everyone to see on the internet, but you'll have to trust me on this one, he's going to have the best name at school!
I started off with some baby lead posing, which means I laid him down and just let him get comfy. Some times it does lead to very strange poses with everything on show, but other times you get lovely natural photos like below.
Next it was on to the wraps. I love this dark grey wrap that I got earlier this year.
You should have seen the smile on my face when mum showed me this little hat! It's so adorable.
Ah, the fluff and grey romper combo - another firm favourite! <3
Sometimes while taking newborn photos, the conversation naturally moves onto the strangest things I ever photographed a baby with. This is generally followed on by mum or dad handing me some kind of random object - in this case it was apples!
Although I call it random, every object always has a story. Whether it's connected to mum or dad's job, a hobby, a nickname, it always has a special meaning that brings something thoughtful to the photo.
