Newborn Pictures | Hemel Hempstead | From Uni Friend to New Dad
This little guy is the perfect example of just how fast life can go some times.
One minute you're 22, at Uni and your housemate is throwing Maoam at you down the corridor. Next thing you know, you're in your 30s and you're photographing their newborn son.
Oliver is the first baby to be born into our friendship group. I already feel sorry for the bad habits some of our friends will teach him!
He was on fine form on the day of his newborn session and was pretty much a perfect model. With a tummy full of milk and a cozy warm room, we were able to get a lovely selection of awake and asleep images.
I used my usual wrapping tricks to start with to try and get him to sleep. You can just tell by looking at the those stubborn eyes that he was determined to stay awake.
All it took was a little top up of milk and some Shhhing from my new baby shhher (love that thing!) and he soon drifted.
Once he was sound asleep the posing could begin! I placed him onto his side and let him curl up, getting himself nice and comfy. This pose is great for including little teddies so I used his little bear as well as my little dog, which is lots of peoples favourite.
Just look at those squidgy cheeks! Can you believe he placed his hand there himself?! Most babies need posing like this but he did my job for me!
Of course I couldn't finish the session without getting an 'on tummy' photo. It is my favourite after all!
An awake baby does not meant the end of the session. This is the perfect chance to get photos of those gorgeous eyes and hilarious expressions!
The below image got chosen to be on the front of their newborn album.
You've got to love detail shots. He may only be 10 weeks old right now but I can assure you these little things are not quite so little any more.
Oliver's mum and dad decided to order a USB of all their images, 10 prints and an album.
The album they chose was acrylic fronted and bound in navy leather, to match their wedding album. I got it delivered directly to their house but managed to sneak a little video of it at his Christening last weekend.
The countdown is now on to see which one of our friends is next to add to the babies. Their money seems to be on us but we shall see!
