Ava's Newborn Photo Shoot | Hemel Hempstead
Little Ava came to me for her newborn photo shoot from Leighton Buzzard when she was 10 days old.
She had the most gorgeous eyes, which we got to see a lot because she outright refused to sleep!
To start the shoot, I wrapped her in a cream newborn wrap and placed her in a wicker basket. I got some images with and without headbands from all different angles.
You're fooling no one Ava - we can tell you're not sleepy!
From there I moved her onto a white fluffy blanket and used one of my favourite white wraps.
I really wanted to get a backlit side profile of her face but she was determined to keep looking at the camera. We got there in the end though!
I've had both this cream blanket and lilac wrap for so long but I still love them both! From the look of her face, Ava does to!
Time for another type of wrapping technique now, this time keeping those long legs free. They liked a good kick but soon snuggled back down comfortably into the wrap.
Photographing naked, awake babies comes with the challenge of keeping all the right bits covered. Arms and legs are generally flailing all over the place so you just have to be patient and wait for everything to fall into the right place.
Ava was a little star though, and once again stared right down the lens.
You know I can't let a newborn photo shoot go by without capturing all those little details. So many tiny things that are changing by the day.
When most parents come for their Newborn Photo Shoot they are dreaming of those sleepy curled up images.
If their baby doesn't sleep they are usually a little disappointed on the day, but when they see their photos they realise they love them just the same.
I get to capture little expressions and parts of their personality that they are starting to develop while still showing just how tiny and gorgeous they are.
